Rubber lagging is the most commonly used pulley lagging. Rubber’s flexibility, it’s abrasion resistance and coefficient of friction make this material popular for increasing grip and reducing wear and corrosion of the pulley shell. Elastotec Rubber Lagging is engineered to be highly elastic, wear resistant and resistant to outdoor ageing to provide long service life. Through the use of the custom in-house rubber mixing process, Elastotec uses the highest quality materials to ensure the most durable rubber lagging available.
Elastotec Rubber Lagging can be applied to conveyor drive, tail, snub, bend or take-up pulleys and is designed for use in medium belt tension applications. It is used for conveyor system applications in the mining, quarrying, mineral and metal processing industries but can be used on conveyor pulleys in any application where required. Elastotec Rubber Lagging has excellent wet and dry abrasion resistance, a high degree of flexibility for enhanced shedding of carry back and a high degree of protection for the conveyor belt.

Elastotec Ceramic Lagging has vulcanised aluminium oxide tiles in rubber with rubber bonded to 5 surfaces of the tile to ensure tile cushioning and better adhesion strength. Tiles provide high abrasion resistance and rubber backing provides dynamic movement of the tiles.
Elastotec Ceramic Lagging is made of a two different rubber layers co-moulded together. The top layer is a high abrasion resistant rubber formulated for 100% rubber tear bond to the ceramic tiles. The bottom layer is the CN bonding layer for increased adhesion. Elastotec’s specially formulated CN bonding layer is engineered to achieve ultimate adhesion when bonded to steel pulley surfaces. A buffed finish provides an increased surface contact and increases adhesion force.
Elastotec Ceramic Lagging is 250mm wide to ensure easy handling and application. It can be supplied in thicknesses from 12mm to 25mm. Thicker rubber allows more deflection of the tiles under the load. This reduces the risk of excessive wear of the bottom belt cover.
Elastotec Ceramic Lagging is used in applications that require reliable operation and long service life. Benefits include reliable grip/traction under all conditions and longer service life than can be obtained with rubber lagging.
Ceramic lagging with rubber backing allows the ceramic tiles to move and adjust their position in response to the movement of the rubber belt cover. This helps protect the belt from wear and damage.

Elastotec Diamond Ceramic Lagging is designed to provide additional grip in low to medium tension applications where existing rubber lagging is experiencing problems due to slippage. A single aluminium oxide tile is bonded into each large diamond and the raised dimples engage with the belt cover under tension and provide increased grip.

Elastotec DBCL is designed for use on drive and non-drive conveyor pulleys. This lagging provides a maintenance free wear resistant surface that will provide increased traction for drive pulleys and a smooth low friction surface for bend and tail pulleys.
As a specialist pulley lagging manufacturer Elastotec has developed the DBCL and the method of application. The method of application has been designed to ensure consistent and reliable results under a variety of application conditions. In addition a network of approved applicators has been trained to use the Elastotec DBCL application method. This ensures that only trained operators using OEM materials apply the Elastotec DBCL.
The Elastotec ceramic tiles are based on a high performance 96% aluminium oxide that is dry injection pressed and sintered under tightly controlled conditions. This produces a small particle size ceramic with outstanding physical properties, abrasion and flex crack resistance.

Elastotec Polyurethane Lagging is used to increase service life of non drive pulleys. Polyurethane’s extreme abrasion resistance combined with it’s low coefficient of friction provide a solution to applications with premature wear when there’s a requirement for no risk of damage to the belt cover. Polyurethane is good for applications with carry back problems as it is slippery resisting material buld up. Polyurethane lagging is specially engineered moulding thermoplastic polyurethane inserts onto a rubber backing layer.
Elastotec Polyurethane Lagging is 250mm wide to ensure easy handling and application. It is supplied in long roll lengths that fit on standard sized pallets to eliminate waste and for cost effective transportation and storage. It can be supplied in thicknesses from 10 mm to 20mm.

Elastotec Slide Lagging is a quick replaceable lagging system that has been designed to service a wide range of applications. This system is specially designed to increase conveyor availability as it is applied directly onto the pulley shell. The slide lagging pads slide into retainers welded into the pulley shell. New pads can be easily replaced without removing the pulley from the conveyor.
Elastotec Slide Lagging designs include rubber slide lagging and ceramic slide lagging all moulded under pressure to the steel plates with no lagging failure from loss of adhesion or separation between the steel and the compound.Elastotec slide lagging has specially designed compound elastomers moulded under high pressure to heavy duty steel plates, which are shaped and cut to fit each pulley diameter and face. The plates slide in and out of steel retainers which are welded to the pulley shell.
Elastotec Slide Lagging steel plates are 135mm wide to ensure easy handling and application with 5mm of exposed steel at each side for clipping retainers. Rubber slide lagging is 15mm thick and ceramic slide lagging is 17mm thick. Pads length is 1687mm and can be cut and bent to suit the pulley size.
Elastotec Slide Lagging is used in applications that require an easy installation and operation. Benefits include the application and removal of the lagging without removing the drum from the conveyor system and no need to sandblast pulley shell before application, Slide lagging products are recommended for the mining, quarry grain and concrete industries. Slide lagging kits are supplied pre cut to pulley size for fast and easy installation.

Elastotec Wear Indicator Rubber Lagging has been developed to provide mining companies with a long life lagging that will provide a visual indication when the abrasion resistant lagging has been worn away and the lagging should be scheduled for replacement. The coloured wear indicator layer is designed to indicate when the lagging replacement is required and to also provide protection for the pulley shell while lagging replacement is schedule.
Simple system that provides an easy to recognise visual indicator that the abrasion resistant diamond lagging layer has worn through and should be scheduled for replacement. Provides a margin of safety by identifying wear before contact/damage to the pulley shell occurs.
The primary aim is to prevent wear of the pulley shell that may lead to the need for an expensive replacement of the whole pulley. Many mines spend considerable time measuring the thickness of the lagging on the pulleys once in service to keep track of replacement requirements. This normally involves operators using ultrasound techniques on the pulley surface during shutdowns to record the remaining thickness of the lagging. A visual alarm while conveyor is running reduces likelihood of pulley shell wear as well as maintenance hours for lagging control.
